Sarah L. Hamilton, age 68, of Marin Luther King Blvd, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Friday, July 25, 1941...
Sarah L. Hamilton, age 68, of Marin Luther King Blvd, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Friday, July 25, 1941 in Moreland, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Nettie Jones McCormack. She retired as a cafeteria cook from the Danville School System and also worked in the Danville County Club Kitchen. Sarah was a member of the Church of God of America where she was a former choir member.
Survivors include her husband, James P. Hamilton, Jr. of Danville whom she wed on October 5, 1959; son, James L. (Terry) Hamilton, Sr. of Midway; daughter, Melanie Lynn Hamilton of Danville; sisters, Ann (Robert) Gooch of Junction City and Arnice (Ernest) Gooch of Danville; grandchildren, James L. Hamilton, Jr., Thomasina R. Hamilton, Nathanial M. Hamilton, Shareka D. Hamilton, LaSaharah J. Hamilton, and Jaron Hamilton; 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Doris Richardson Hamilton of Cincinnati, OH, ; cousin, Juanita Simpson of Danville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hamilton was predeceased by a sister, Sherline McCormack.
An Appreciation of Life service will be 12:30PM Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Barnes, Bishop Larry Weathers, Sr., and Evangelist Bernice Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 10AM until time of service Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be James L. Hamilton, Jr., Charles and Vincent Armstrong, Thomas Hamilton, Kevin Crittenden, and Ernest Gooch, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be James L. Hamilton, Sr., Atawn Snow, and Brandon Tabbs.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Church of God of America Building Fund.
