Officer Aaron Sparks Obituary

Officer Aaron Russell Sparks, 43, of Danville, passed away February 2, 2024 at UK Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on May 13, 1980 in Boyle County to Gary and Kathy Blakeman Sparks of Lancaster. He is survived by his wife, Nicole Owens Sparks of Danville. 

Aaron was a US Army Veteran and a 8 year veteran of the Danville Police Department. He loved his job, his fellow officers, serving his community, and his family. Aaron was Superman to everyone he met. 

Also surviving is a sister, Crystal Cornelius (William) of Lancaster, nieces and nephew, Holly, Henley, and Quinn Cornelius, all of Lancaster;  great niece and nephews, Korbin Cornelius, Everly Corneilus and Holden Cornelius; father and mother-in-law, Monte and Lana Owens of Danville; brother-in-law, Ryan Owens of Junction City and his dogs, Gunner, Lucy, and Ruby. 

Aaron is preceded in death by his grandparents, Virginia and Ruben Sparks and Christine and Leo Blakeman. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at The Showroom with Sgt. Adam Wilson officiating. A public visitation will be held from 4pm-6pm directly before the service at The Showroom. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Danville Police Department and Danville Fire Department.
