Bro. Randy Hawkins Obituary

Bro. Randy Hawkins, 88, of Danville, passed away May 30, 2019 at his home. He was born on October 26, 1930 in Monroe County, Tennessee to the late JH and Lula Atkins Hawkins. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Carolyn Belcher Hawkins.

Bro. Randy was a minister for over 57 years, starting his ministry at Bear Creek Church in Bybee, Tennessee and serving many churches including North Rolling Fork in Gravel Switch, Friendship Baptist in Casey County, and was a faithful member of New Life Ministries Church. He provided comfort and ministered to Boyle County Detention Center and volunteered at New Hope Food Pantry. He served our country proudly in the Army. Bro. Randy loved being a twin, he loved making people laugh, enjoyed life, loved animals, especially dogs and was an avid UK fan.

Surviving is a son, Mike Hawkins of Danville, a daughter, Susan Hawkins Miller of Sweetwater, Tennessee; a sister, Joan Witt grandchildren, Dustin Miller (Jamie), Sarah Miller Mercer (Jonathan), and Sueticia Hawkins Rodgers (Travis); great-grandchildren, Oakland Miller, Emersyn Miller, Jasper Mercer, Scout Mercer, Finley Mercer and Maci Grace Rodgers and a special family friend, Myrtle Hawkins.

He is preceded in death by a twin brother, Rudy Hawkins, brothers, Jim and Jerry Hawkins and a son in law, Ricky Miller.

Funeral services 7PM Monday June 3, 2019 at New Life Ministries Church with Bro. Chuck Robinson, Bro. Rudy Henderson, Bro. Don Garland and Bro. Denny Moore officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7PM at the church Monday. 11AM graveside service will be held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Miller, Jonathan Mercer, Travis Rodgers, and Bobby Hinkle.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Circle of Love Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heritage Hospice.
