Charles Clarkson Obituary

Charles Clarkson, 85, of Danville, passed away July 21, 2018 at Thomson Hood Veterans Center. He was born December 13, 1932 in Boyle County to the late George and Pauline Taylor Clarkson. Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Clarkson.

He was an Army veteran and worked for Norfolk Southern for over 30 years.

Surviving is a son, Garnett Clarkson (Lisa) of Danville; a daughter, Robin Clarkson of Salt Lick, Ky; grandchildren: Brian Clarkson (Melissa) of Danville and Eric Clarkson (Ashley) of Danville; great-grandchildren: Ryan Clarkson,Charles Clarkson, Camilla Clarkson, Hailey Thrasher, and Michael Butler; and great-great-grandchild: Kian Clarkson.

He is preceded in death by eight brothers, J.T., George, Lee, Jimmy, Harvey, Billy, Henry, and Stuart Clarkson; and four sisters, Florence Clarkson, Betty Elizabeth Routt, Laura Clarkson, and Margaret Clarkson.

Funeral services 1PM Wednesday at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Ellis officiating. Burial in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation 6-9 Tuesday.

Pallbearers are Garnett Clarkson, Brian Clarkson, Eric Clarkson, Henry Clarkson, Phillip Clarkson, and Steve Clarkson.
