James "Daniel" Notter, 18, of Danville, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Danville. He was the son of Phyllis and Dr. Mark Spurlin of Danville and Lewis "Brent" Notter of Mercer County.
Daniel was a Boyle County High School graduate, with plans to attend EKU in the fall. He was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church and loved to fish, golf, and play basketball. Daniel was a bright light with an infectious smile, and was dearly loved by his friends and family.
Also surviving is a brother, Cory Hurst of Danville; maternal grandmother, Bennie Reynolds of Crab Orchard; step grandmother, Doris Spurlin of Danville; step-sister, Ashley Spurlin of Lexington; step-brother, Mark Alan Spurlin II of Lexington; aunts: Joyce Reynolds (Kevin Hawkins) of Lancaster, Lori Wimmer (Bob) of Georgia, Jennifer Deibert (Paul) of Texas; an uncle, James Lee Reynolds (Michele) of Crab Orchard; step uncles: Jim Spurlin (Libby) of Lancaster and Barry Spurlin (Liz) of Preachersville; great aunts: Grace Harness and Phyllis Jean Bodner, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, James Lee Reynolds and paternal grandparents, Dr. Don and Donna Notter.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 3PM-7PM at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private and burial in Lancaster Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cory Hurst, Jonathan Florian, Logan Lynch, Matthew Bodner, Jared England, Sam Clark, Mark Spurlin II, James David Spurlin II, Ethan Spurlin, and Brandon Weller.
Honorary pallbearers will be uncles: James Reynolds, Kevin Hawkins, Bob Wimmer, Paul Deibert, Bobby Bodner, Sr, Jim Spurlin, and Barry Spurlin; Dr. Mark Bruner and Dr. Monte Finch.
