Edna Sneed Atwood, 84, of Danville, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Hospital. She was born on July 2, 1934 in Pulaski County to the late Elger Delton and Evelyn Lay Sneed. Edna was survived by her husband, Donald Atwood.
She worked for American Greetings for many years and was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Along with her husband, she is also survived by three daughters: Vickie Greer of Richmond, Veta Brown (Malcolm) of Frankfort, and Kelli Murphy (James) of Danville; step-sons, Darren Atwood of Waynesburg and Douglas Atwood of Arizona; seven brothers, Gene, Raymond, Alvie, Dean, Gerald, David, and Kenny Sneed; sisters: Ella McAnich, Brenda Carmen, Ollie Tackett, and Judy Allen; grandchildren: Jason Mitchell (Sunny), Denise Sweet, Erin Brown, Dylan Brown, LeeAnn Murphy, and Brandon Murphy (Aubree); and great grandchildren: Brighton Mitchell, Ava Mitchell, Shynescia Metlock, Braylee Murphy, and Caysen Murphy.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Edward Sneed, Elgar Sneed, Jr., Russell Sneed and two sisters, Vera Salyers and Betty Salyers.
Funeral services will be 7PM Monday, November 5, 2018 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Browning officiating. Visitation from 5-7PM, Monday at the funeral home.
