James Beazley, 97, of Danville, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 at McDowell Place in Danville. He was born on September 10, 1921 to the late James A. and Nannie Sweeney Beazley.
Mr. Beazley was an avid business man working for the Bank of Danville for many years, former owner of Preston Pruitt Funeral Home, Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Kentucky Department of Commerce, and retiring from the Small Business Administration. Jim was entrenched in the community with Rotary Club, where he was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow Award, Kiwanis Club, and a very active member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ of Danville and a previous member of Central Christian Church of Lexington. He was a WWII veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 46 in Danville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Mildred Beazley Davis, Virginia Johnson, and Lucille Layton.
Funeral services 11AM Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Pusateri and Rev. David Shirey officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00am until service time.
