Louise McWhorter Russell, 91, of Danville, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She was born on June 11, 1927 to the late James and Florence Neal McWhorter.
She retired from Palm Beach after 37 years and a member of Alum Springs First Church of God, where she enjoyed quilting with the ladies. She also loved baking sourdough bread and fried apple pies. Louise was a praying, loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Sherrell and five brothers, Omer, Paul Jr., William, Charles and Parker McWhorter; four sisters, Irene Dedrick, Christine Brown, Josephene Brummit and Morine Perdue.
She is survived by one son, Terry Kimberlin (Linda), one grandson, Carl Kimberlin (Mikki), two granddaughters, Stacy Rodriguez (Chris) and Sherry Ferrell; three great-granddaughters, Jessica Stroeh, Rebecca Lowrey and Angel Rodriguez, one great-great granddaughter, Holly Geers and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services 1PM Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Lear officiating. Visitation will be from 11AM-until funeral at 1PM. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
