Roberta Buchanan

Roberta Hester Buchanan, 86, of Danville, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Hospital. She was born on February 22, 1932 in Lincoln County to the late Robert Lee and Ella Wayne Hester. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh C. Buchanan. 

Roberta graduated from Stanford High School in 1950. She worked at Johnson- Pohlmann Insurance Agency & Ephraim Helton Associates for many years. Roberta dearly loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, & 2 cats & dog. She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ Danville. 

Surviving is a daughter, Karen Buchanan Rankin (David) of Danville; grandchildren: Stephanie Howell, John Thomas Morgan Jr., and Jonathan Lee Rankin; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Jackson Howell. 

Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Buchanan Morgan and a brother, Robert Lee Hester, Jr.

Funeral services 11AM Friday, December 28, 2018 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Dr. James C. Baughman officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 5-7PM at the funeral home.  A private burial will be held in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Hester, Daryl Hester, Charles Hester, Jeff McBee, Mike Adams, and Ralph Ray Burnside.
