Ron Baker

Mr. Ron Baker, 89, of Cartersville, GA passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 while surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born January 2, 1930 in Irvine, KY to the late Mr. Walter S. Baker Sr. and Mrs. Natalia Hughes Baker.

Ron served in the United States Navy for five years during the Korean War. He never met a stranger and had friends wherever he went. Ron was a great story teller and engaged even the shyest person. He loved to play golf and began playing golf at the age of seven and never stopped and even owned his own golf store for twelve years. Ron was a devoted husband, a caring father and Paw Paw to his grandchildren. Ron will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Clara Davis, and brother, Arnold Baker.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Van Derwerken Baker, sons; Keith (Cathy) Baker, Rick (Shirley) Baker, step daughters; Camme (Mike) Mongoven and Jonna (Tim) Ryan and step son, Scott Patterson. His three grandchildren; Kelly, Jacob, and Joshua Mongoven also survive to cherish Paw Paw's memory.

A 3PM graveside service will be held Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Bellevue Cemetery with Rev. Kelly Mongoven officiating.
