Annette Louise Stroup Threlkel, 69, of Danville, passed away August 29, 2020 at Landmark of Danville. She was born in Batesville, Indiana on March 26,1951 to the late Deward and Eleanor Morrow Stroup.
Surviving is a daughter, Lanette Cooper of Salem, Indiana; a grandson, Hayden Cooper of Louisville; a sister, Yvonne Combes of Columbus, Ohio; special "sisters" who shared a friendship for over 40 years, Imogene Isaacs of Danville and Jannice Aaron of Stanford; nephews, Colin Combes (Gina) of Columbus, Ohio and Graham Combes (Jen) of Wolfeborogh, New Hampshire; a niece, Emily Combes (Tom) of Columbus, Ohio and great nieces and nephews, Cameron and Harper Combes, Lillian and Liam Combes and Christopher, Andrew and Jonathan Newcomb. Also surviving is Annette’s sweet little puppy dog, Lucy, who looks for her every day.
She is preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan Cooper, a special "sister" June Shipp and brother in law, Ron Combes.
Annette retired from her career with the U S Department of Housing and Urban Development where she monitored housing providers and mortgagee compliance, assisted troubled facilities and performed other housing activities as disaster recovery. Annette was a dedicated, professional worker. Annette advanced rapidly and received outstanding performance evaluations annually.
Annette was a special person. She was a sweet, sweet person who lit up the scene with her presence. Annette was a true best-ever friend. She loved horse racing and attended numerous Derby and Breeders Cup events. She loved football especially the Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes. Annette lived in South Florida for numerous years. Annette loved to travel and did so every year. Annette enjoyed her travels with her special sisters as well as vacations with her sister and family.
A graveside service will be held Friday, September 4, 2020 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem, Indiana.
