Betty L. Sheaks, 98, of Danville, formerly of Illinois, passed away January 30, 2022. She was born on April 6, 1923 to the late Charles and Nina Hardy Bellinger. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Donald Sheaks.
Betty loved to square dance and ballroom dance with her husband, Donald. She made ceramics and loved to read in her spare time. She also spent many wonderful winters in Florida. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are two sons, Robert A. Sheaks of Illinois and William A. "Bill" Sheaks (Pam) of Danville; two grandchildren, Blake Sheaks (Brittany) of Danville and Eric Sheaks (Olivia) of Lexington; three great-grandchildren, Greyson, Owen, and Noah Sheaks and a special friend at Morning Pointe, Polly Hanks.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Grant and William Bellinger and a sister, Doris Wynn.
A private visitation will be held for family at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home in Danville.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the wonderful staff and residents of Morning Pointe.
