Bobby Glyn Johns, 74, of Mississippi, formerly of Danville, passed away early Sunday morning at Merit Health Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was born on April 3, 1948 to the late Thomas A. and Stella Owens Johns.
Bobby was proud of his service in the United States Air Force. And we, his family and friends are so very proud of him.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Stella, brothers, Thomas, Grover, Lowell, and Donald and one sister, Ella Manning.
He is survived by sisters, Lucille Durham and Mary Brogan and one brother, Raymond "Tony" Johns and by a companion, Janice Coursey and her family. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Bobby graduated from Danville High School and went to join the USAF. He served 2 tours in Vietnam and retired from the Air Force in 1988. He made his home in the Mississippi gulf coast.
Whatever Bobby was doing, he gave it his ALL. Whether it was on the football field for Danville High or working on the AC-47 aircraft in Vietnam or doing all number of jobs after retiring. He took pride in who he was and what he did.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, with a funeral procession to the cemetery starting at 1:00pm from Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home.
Bobby, you will be sorely missed. I hope you had a joyous reunion with Mom, Dad, Tommy, Grover, Lowell, Donald, Ella, and all your veteran friends. Hope to see you again someday.
