Bobby Joseph McElroy

Bobby Joseph McElroy, 79, of Lancaster passed away August 3, 2024 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 14, 1945 in Danville, KY to the late James Frank McElroy and Ovie Elsie Chambers McElroy. Bobby worked for the Railroad for many years and was a truck driver as well. 

Surviving is a brother, Kenneth McElroy of Stanford; two sisters, Mary McElroy Hargis of Hustonville and Maria McElroy Preston of Lancaster; a daughter in law, Mary Ellen Massey of Lancaster; Grandchildren, Levi Smallwood of Somerset, Casey Gordon of Danville, Dakota Blue Smallwood of Danville, Stefan Patterson of Lancaster, and Abel Glenn Hogue of Lancaster; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Evelyn Hines McElroy and second wife, Mildred Stevens McElroy; two sons, James L. McElroy and Mark E. McElroy; brothers, Franklin McElroy, Johnny McElroy, Gilbert McElroy, Cecil McElroy, Bobby McElroy, Edgar Lee McElroy, Paul McElroy, Thelma McElroy Preston, Clara McElroy, and Joyce Ann McElroy.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Eric Bast, Jacob Vanover, Edwin Preston, Stefan Patterson, Elizabeth Bast, Becky Preston, Charles McElroy, and Tony McElroy.

Honorary pallbearers are Casey Gordon, nieces, nephews, and friends.
