Charles Edward Farley, 81, of Fayette County, passed away on September 30, 2023 at Pine Meadows Post Acute in Lexington, KY. He was born on December 17, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to the late James Farley and Willie Mae Farley Adams. He is survived by his loving wife, Antoinette Farley.
Charles served in the Marine Corps and attended Louisville Technical College. He retired from IBM where he worked for 25 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Danville.
The last card that he gave to his wife read, “Being married to you is the best part of my life. I wouldn’t trade any of it – the laughter and fun, the challenges we overcome, and all the ways we’re there for each other with comfort, support, and love. Being on this journey with you is what makes life so meaningful. I love you.”
Surviving are three sons, Tilford Farley (Rosie) of Texas, Tyrone Farley of Lexington and Jerone Farley of Lexington; a daughter Lolita Martina (Dino) of Lexington; two step-daughters, Heather Venable of Georgia and Kimberly Skillings of Florida; a brother, Louis E. Adams Jr. of New Mexico; a sister, Louisia Adams of Danville; and seven grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Farley; a brother, Leon Farley; and two sisters, Andrea Martin and Kitty McGill.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Danville, KY with Rev. Darrick Briscoe officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mario Martina, Lorenzo Martina, Omar Farley, Dino Martina, Jalen Daugherty and Michael Aguirre.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Black, George Shannon, James Doneghy, Alonzo McGuire, McElroy Burdette, James Singleton and Louis E. Adams Jr.
