Charles Everett Hinkle, 73, of Danville, passed away February 7, 2026 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born January 27, 1953 in Danville, Kentucky to the late John Everett and Ramona Phillips.
Charles retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 37 years of service. He loved racing; NASCAR, Dirt track, you name it. Charles loved attending car shows and was a proud member of the Old School Custom Car Club. He loved making people laugh but most of all, he was a proud father and grandfather.
Surviving are two sons, Christopher Scott Hinkle (Angela) of Frankfort and Jeremy Chad Hinkle (Nita) of Danville; a daughter, Emily Michelle Fain (James) of Danville; grandchildren, Blake Durham (Logan), Andrew Durham (Amy), Will Hinkle, John Hinkle, and Heather Hinkle; brothers, Lawrence Hinkle (Sharon R.) of Lancaster and Clyde Hinkle (Sharon U.) of Danville; six great grandchildren, Andrew, Kamdyn, Civil, Gracelyn, Sterling, and Theodore; and a special family friend, Daniel Cheek (Crystal) of Lancaster.
Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Priscilla Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
