Clysten Elder

Clysten Elder, 88, of Danville, passed away December 28, 2018 at his home in Danville. He was born in Crab Orchard, Kentucky on December 26, 1930 to the late Otis and Pearl Maupin Elder. Clysten was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Burden Elder.

He was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran, a recipient of a Purple Heart. He deeply loved his family, UK Basketball, and Nascar. Clysten was of the Baptist faith.

Survivng are two daughters, Trena Adams (Danny) of Lancaster and Lucy Elder of Danville; a grandchild, Derek Brummett of Danville, and two great-grandchildren: Gracie and Rylee  Brummett.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Delbert Elder; grandchild, Nikki Coulter; siblings: Hubert, Delbert, Melvin, Jim, Richard, and Leslie Elder, Ruth Wilson, and Lena Cross; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services 1PM Wednesday, January 2, 2018 at Preston Pruitt  Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Durham officiating. Burial in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11AM-until service time on Wednesday.
