Denise Preston Young, 37, of Perryville, passed away January 12, 2020 in Danville, Kentucky. She was born on November 9, 1982 in Louisville, Kentucky to Delores Preston of Danville, Kentucky and the late Dennis Preston. She is survived by her husband, Ian Young.
Denise graduated from Boyle County High School and Eastern Kentucky University. She was the Purchasing Director for Wilderness Trail Distillery and a faithful member of Perryville Baptist Church. She was an avid UK fan, make-up artist and loved costume jewelry. Cheerleading was her passion, from cheering from a young age to coaching Boyle County Cheer Team for over 7 years. Denise never met a stranger, she would light up a room, and undoubtedly would always put others before herself.
Surviving are two children, Landry and Knox Young; a brother, Devin Preston of Danville; mother and father-in-law, Nan and Wayne Young; sister in law, Blaine Young; niece, Kira Young and nephew, Jonah Young, a special aunt, Cassie Zippay; special friends, Megan Mayes, Jennifer Heist, Stephanie McDonald, Melissa Baker, Hannah Lammy and Heather Bottom and numerous close friends, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding her in death is her father, Dennis Preston and grandparents Arnold and Bernice Weddington and Wesley and Mary Preston.
Funeral services 1PM Thursday, January 16, 2020 at The Showroom in Danville with Reverends Doug Davis, Rob Kernodle and Aaron Hackworth officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 3-8PM at The Showroom.
Pallbearers will be Devin Preston, Shane Baker, Matt Bottom, Stephen Mayes, Jacob Heist and Keith Slone.
Honorary pallbearers will be Boyle County High School Cheerleading Team, Dr. Shaun McKenzie, Dr. Amy Schell, Elizabeth "Fizzy" Ramsey, Wilderness Trail Distillery Family, Cassie Zippay, Dr. Mark Spurlin and Lynn Hunt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Knox and Landry Young College Fund c/o Farmers Bank PO Box 282 Perryville, Kentucky 40468 , the Denise Young BCHS Cheerleading Scholarship Fund or Heritage Hospice.
