Doug Tackett, 80, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mary. Doug was born on December 11, 1941 in Weeksbury, Ky to the late Troy and Lina Johnson Tackett.
Doug was a United States Army veteran and a member of Danville Church of God. He was a kind, compassionate man who got along with everyone. He loved his son, his step-children and his grandchildren dearly. Doug was a quiet mild mannered man, but when he spoke, it was words of wisdom. He will be missed by all.
Along with his wife, Doug is survived by a son, Devin Tackett of Richmond; three daughters, Tammy Compton (Robert) of Michigan, Tracie Bostic of Michigan and Tara Neff (Chuck) of Lancaster; Eleven grandchildren, Laken Tackett - Hammonds, Jarred Tackett, Amber Tully, Matthew Webb, Andrew Webb, Justin Moody, Jessica Moody, Jordan Smith, Chelsea Smith, Caden Neff and Tay Neff and thirteen great biggie boys and biggie girls.
Funeral services will be 12:30pm on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Danville Church of God with Bishop Bryan Montgomery and Bishop Daniel Shortridge officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jarred Tackett, Justin Moody, Caden Neff, Tay Neff, Andrew Webb and Matt Webb.
