Evelyn Sue Douglas, 64, of Danville, passed away April 22, 2021 in Danville. She was born on October 22, 1956 in Danville, Kentucky to Pauline Douglas of Danville and the late Henry Douglas. 

She graduated from Boyle County High School and from Eastern Kentucky University. Evelyn taught 9-12th grade at Bullitt Central High School since 1978, where she was a vital part of their staff. Evelyn led her students in cheerleading, softball, soccer, numerous project graduations, ACT proctor and was a staple for getting buses where they needed to be on daily basis. She won many awards and had many accolades during her tenure as a teacher. Evelyn was born a teacher, who connected with every student, exactly where they were in life at that moment. She had a gentle soul, a giving servants heart, and put everyone else before herself. 
 

Evelyn is survived by her mother, Pauline Douglas, three sisters, Debra Jean Haydon of Frankfort, Linda Mae Kyle of Lancaster and Judy A. Kail (Gary W., Sr.) of Frankfort, uncle, Charles David Whitlock (Jeannie) of Danville, aunt, Carolyn Joyce Nevius of Stanford; nieces and nephews, Whitney Jo Forbes (Derek), Todd Franklin Haydon (Kari), Bryan Douglas Haydon (Ellie Holliday), Melissa A. Kail-Sawyers (Brandon) and Gary W. Kail, Jr (Tabitha); great nieces and nephews, Robbie Forbes, Natalie, Bethany, Weston, Olivia, Maisy and Liberty Haydon, and Katelyn Marie and Jacob Henry Sawyers and a very special, faithful cousin, Anita Kinley of Danville. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Douglas.  

Funeral services will be 11am Monday, April 26, 2021 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7pm on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be Todd Haydon, Derek Forbes, Bryan Haydon, Gary Kail, Sr., Brandon Sawyers and Debra Jean Haydon. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Kail, Jr., Charles Whitlock, Kenny Runyon, Joe Pat Lee, Thomas Stokes and the Tribe and special teachers of Bullitt Central High School in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
