Fern Silvers, 93, of Boyle County, passed away Friday November 29, 2019 at Charleston Health Care in Danville. She was born on May 14, 1926 in Sullivan, Indiana to the late George Thomas and Katie Beasley Harlow. Fern was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Silvers.
Fern enjoyed going fishing and loved hummingbirds. She worked as a CNA and was a member of Cherry Lake Baptist Church. In later years, Fern shared her time with family and her best buddy, her schnasuer, Scampi.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Silvers (Brenda) of Lancaster, Richard Silvers of N. Mulvane, Kansas and Jeff Silvers of Lancaster; two daughters, Beverly Nester (David) of Fairbanks, Alaska and Nancy Bullock of Indianapolis, Indiana; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents, Fern was preceded in death by two brothers, Buford Harlow and Thomas Harlow; one sister, Frances Spaulding and a son-in-law, Danny Bullock.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Krieg, Derek Weaver and Doug Silvers.
