Georgia M. York

Georgia Preston York, 62, of Danville, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She was born on April 24, 1963, in Boyle County to the late Charles and Anita Sargant Preston.  

Georgia was a wonderful mother, an Angel on Earth. She put everyone else’s needs above her own always; she dearly loved her family. Georgia loved the Lord and was a member of Southern Heights Baptist Church. 

Georgia is survived by a son, Andrew York of Danville; a daughter, April Crowe (Johnathon) of Middleburg; two granddaughters, Lakyn York and Brooklyn Mullins; two brothers, Eugene Preston (Kathy) of Danville and Michael Preston (Jill) of Danville; and a sister, Rita Vickrey of Lebanon.

Along with her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by a son, Adam York, and a brother, Stevie Preston.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Brother Johnny Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Junction City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Andrew York, Johnathon Crowe, Eugene Preston, Mike Preston, Shae Martin, and Doug Britton.
