Gillis "Gil" Martin Gregory, 71, of Danville, passed away April 10, 2020 at Stanford Care and Rehab in Stanford, Kentucky. He was born in Danville, Kentucky on September 4, 1948 to the late Toleman and Christine Martin Gregory.
Gil was a proud graduate of Danville High School and is “forever an Admiral.” He was a longtime jewelry store manager for C&H Rauch and Freidman's Jewelry Stores. He was an avid Admiral and UK fan. More than a fan, he was a constant volunteer for the Champion Admiral Football program serving in many different capacities-even winning a Volunteer Appreciation Award of which he was very proud.
Gil was also a Vietnam Veteran. He was drafted in 1969 into the US Army and served as a medic until 1971. We are all eternally grateful for his service.
Surviving is a sister, Shelby Gregory Crawford of Danville, nephews, Stephen Crawford of Danville and David Gregory, Jr. of Colorado, nieces, Cheryl Gregory of Virginia and Laura Crawford LaRue of Elizabethtown and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his family, he is survived by many long-time friends to which his family is eternally grateful.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Gregory.
A private graveside service will held at Bellevue Cemetery.
