Hattie Francis Dawson was born August 13, 1934. She was called home to be with the Lord on March 13, 2022. She was the widow of the late Charles (Vickie) Dawson Sr. and the daughter of the late William Warner Sr. and Margaret Cooper Warner.
She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Bertha (William) Faulkner, Helen (William) Ewing, and Faith (Cecil) Smith; a brother, James Sterling (Juanita) Warner.
Also preceding her death were four of her children, Fredrick Dawson, Gary (Camille) Dawson, Janice Dawson and Charles Dawson.
She was a graduate of Bate High School and became a devoted mother and housekeeper. After a time she became employed at Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, KY. After attending school and studying, she became a registered nurse. She was a member of Saint Peter & Paul Catholic Church and was a great service to her family and the community. She was very active in class reunions, family reunions, family gatherings and social events. She was a long time special friend to the late Clifford Bradshaw. She brought joy and laughter to our worlds while also helping to hold a large family group together.
She leaves behind two brothers William (Minnie) Warner Jr. of Danville, KY and Bruce Warner of KY.
Also left behind are two daughters Leitha Dawson of Danville and Cassandra Smith of Danville; three sons, Tony B. Dawson of Lexington, Kenneth E. Dawson of Danville and Clifford (Delorse) Dawson of Danville; sixteen grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren, friends and relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Corey Dawson, Jaqueb Dawson, Ontario Hill, Ikia Clayborne, Kurt Dawson and Tron Pennington.
