Hattie Iona Jarboe

Hattie Downs Jarboe, 90, devoted mother of Susie Jarboe Simpson, beloved MeMe of Will Simpson (Loretta) and Margaret Simpson Hunt (Jason), adored great MeMe of Joshua, Jared, Allison, Alexis, Annabelle and Alivia. Loving sister to William Downs (Linda). Hattie went to rest peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 21, 2022. 

Hattie enjoyed crocheting, sewing, listening to the Statler Brothers sing and collecting salt and pepper shakers with over 5000 sets. She spent 43 years working as a seamstress at Palm Beach Co. Hattie’s biggest pride was telling everyone that she is a MeMe with 4 generations. Hattie spent the majority of her life in Junction City, Kentucky and the last 7 years in Northern Kentucky. 

Hattie is preceded in death by her parents Leo and Gertrude Downs, siblings Charles and Frances Downs and her favorite son in law, Bill Simpson.  

Funeral services will be 1pm Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Hershel McKinley officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 11am-1pm at the funeral home.
