Hazel Lay, 92, of Danville, passed away November 5, 2021 at her home. She was born on March 18, 1929 in Boyle County to late William B. and Anna Pearl Grider Cochran. She is survived by her husband, Cecil Lay.
She worked for Palm Beach for over 40 years and was a member of Herrington Lake Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are two sons, Daniel Langford (Rita) of Stanford and William Langford (Vickie) of Florida, one brother, Arnold Cochran; step children, Debbie Halverson (Scott), Melissa Ross (Mark), Durand Lay (Peggy) and Gil Lay (Vickie); grandchildren, Dana Pope, Crystal Mach, Danny “Ponch” Langford, JR. and Bridget King; step grandchildren, Manota Harvey, Gil Lay Jr, Justin Lay, Nikki Arrasmith, Trevar Lay, Michael Tyler, Kasey Brisco, John Bottom, Blake Lay, Devan Lay, and Jami Dean; 30 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dodd Langford, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Tolson officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Monday, November 8, 2021.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Mach, Ponch Langford, Dalyn Pope, Bobby King, Trevar Lay, and Spincer King.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
