Ivory Yocum, 72, of Danville, passed away May 29, 2025 in Stanford, Kentucky. He was born in Danville, Kentucky to the late Robert Lee Yocum and Rosetta Yocum Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Freeman Yocum.
Ivory was a talented horse trainer and a faithful member of First Baptist Church-Walnut Street. He was active in the Men’s Choir at First Baptist. Ivory loved his community and his family immensely.
He is survived by his sisters, Jackie Yocum and Marsha Yocum, both of Danville; a brother, Paul Allen Yocum of Versailles; brother in law, Donald Lancaster of Danville; a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly and two special friends, James Patterson and Lisa Alexander.
Ivory is preceded in death by his loving wife, sisters, Dorothy Jackson, Rosa Mae Lancaster, Linda Yocum, and Bonnie Yocum; brother in laws, James Lancaster and Dennis Jones; a great nephew, Antonio Lancaster and great niece, Ginastacia Yocum.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 7, 2025 at First Baptist Church - 2nd & Walnut Street in Danville, KY with Antwann Yocum officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time at the church. A private burial will be held at Hilldale Cemetery at a later date.
Pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews, Marcus Yocum, Dwayne Yocum, Larry Watkins, Terry Williams, Chris Jackson, Christopher Jackson, Bobby Yocum, Lamar Yocum, and Paul Jackson.
