Obituary

Jackie J Gambrel, 83, of Danville Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 14, 2021.  

Jackie is survived by his wife of 63 years Joyce Gambrel; his 3 children:  Sharon Gambrel-McElroy (Jim) of Mitchellsburg, Ky; Debbie Crowley (Andy) of Greer, SC; Gregory Gambrel (Linda) of Abingdon, VA; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.  He is also survived by a brother, Paul Gambrel (Cordie) of Kentucky and two sisters, Ima Jean Cassidy of Tennessee and Evelyn Jackson of Virginia.

Jackie was a veteran of the US Navy and worked throughout the state of Kentucky in the construction industry.  He was an avid fisherman and gardener, loving his tomato plants and apple trees until the day he passed.  

Graveside services for family and friends will be held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 1:30pm. 

Pallbearers will be Adam Gambrel, Clara Gambrel, Keeley Crowley, Emily Martin, Caleb Martin, Josh Crowley and Brant Goodlett. Honorary pallbearer will be Hazel Foley.
