Jeannine Stephenson Sharp, 96, of Danville, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at her home. She was born in Danville on March 26, 1929, to the late James C. Stephenson and Olive Belle Hall Stephenson.
Jeannine worked for Family Services Association of Boyle County and Inter-County for many years. She was a devoted member of Centenary Methodist Church. Jeannine found joy in many hobbies from water skiing and bowling in her younger years to crossword puzzles and reading in recent years. She had a loving, gentle spirit and loved to laugh. Jeannine was most proud of her family, she dearly loved her children and grandchildren.
Jeannine is survived by two daughters, Angela Sharp Jones (Bruce) of Danville and Mary Witt Sharp of Danville; grandchildren, Abby Jones of Delray Beach, Florida, Brett Jones (Emma) of South Bend, Indiana, and Cathryn Jones of Lexington; great-grandchild, Owen Riely Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Jeannine was preceded in death by a brother, JC “Steve” Stephenson; sisters, Irene Griffiths, Virginia Bicknell, Annabelle Knuckles, and Gloria Woodson.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Centenary Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Morgan officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions are preferred to Centenary Methodist Church or Danville-Boyle County Humane Society.
