Jeffrey Layton Curtis, 59, of Danville, went to his heavenly home on May 11, 2022. He was born on July 4, 1962 in Lancaster, Kentucky to Bobby Curtis of Stanford and the late Alice Arnold Gilbert. Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Louise Curtis.
Also surviving are his daughters, Shawna Howard (Jordan) of Lexington and Brittany Curtis of Richmond; a brother, Mike Curtis (Teresa) of Junction City; a sister, Lonna Gilbert (Mike) of Danville; grandchildren, Zac, Adriana, Connor, Kaydence, Destiny, and Dylan; nephews, Clint (Brie), Logan (Abigail); and nieces, Nikki, Alli, and Lilli Kate.
Jeff is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Alice and Lon Gilbert.
Jeff was owner and operator of Curtis Construction, where he was awarded best in business for his construction company several years in a row. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and was a UK sports fan. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he played a very active role in their lives. Jeff was currently a member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church. Jeff was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, the church, his friends, and his community.
Funeral services will be 4pm, Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Pastor Nick Sandefur and Bro. Chuck Robinson officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the funeral home. An additional visitation will be 2:00 PM until service time on Sunday.
Burial will be 3:00 pm Monday, May 16, 2022 at Lancaster Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Howard, Clint Curtis, Logan Curtis, Rodney West, Mickey Dean, Chad Pinkston, Randall Byrd and Aaron Brown.
Honorary pallbearers are David Lawson, Larry Simpson, Doug Reed, Robert Lear and Dave Bottom.
