Jimmy Leon Matherly Sr.

Jimmy Leon Matherly, Sr., 75, of Boyle County, passed away, Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 28, 1946 in Boyle County to the late Foster Leon Matherly and Dorothy Matherly Short. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Leon Matherly, Jr. 

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Mary; a son, Michael; daughter, Paula; two sisters, Pauline Abner and Hazel Stratton; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew. 

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Brother Henry Anness officiating. Burial will follow at Junction City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be James White, Chris Stratton, Daniel Short, Dan Smithers, Chris Mullins and Dr. Leonard. 

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
