John L. Freeman, 79, of Danville passed away on October 2, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. John was born on January 25, 1943 in Louisville to the late Joseph Lee and Mary Elizabeth Freeman. John is survived by his loving wife Debra.
John was a member of Danville United Methodist Church. He pitched baseball for Danville High School and received a scholarship to pitch for Eastern State Teacher's College (EKU) where he graduated with a teaching degree. He taught 7th grade Social Studies for several years at Elizabethtown. Later he worked in sales for different companies and owned and operated Ace Billiards in Danville for several years. He enjoyed playing pool and golf.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by a son, Chris Freeman of Danville; a daughter Angela Freeman of Nicholasville; and one grandchild, Eden Mebrahtu.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Brother Otis Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Cleland Lottis, Benny Goode, Chris Freeman, Doug Coulter, Stephen Swann and Wayne Dowell.
