John Eugene McElroy

John Eugene McElroy, 81, of Danville, passed away Monday, June 22, 2020 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife, Willie. John was born in Boyle County on February 5, 1939 to the late James and Ovie Chambers McElroy. 

John worked on the railroad for many years.

Along with his wife, John is survived by four sons, Cecil McElroy (Dana) of Moreland, Ronnie McElroy of Indiana, Donnie McElory (Shelia) of Danville and Andy McElroy of Crab Orchard; three brothers, Kenneth McElroy of Stanford, Edgar McElroy of Crab Orchard and Bobby McElroy of Lancaster; Two sisters, Mary Hargis of Hustonville and Maria Preston of Lancaster; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, James T. McElroy; four brothers, Frankie McElroy, Gilbert McElroy, Cecil McElroy and Paul McElroy; three sisters, Thelma McElroy-Preston, Clara Belle McElroy and Joyce Ann McElroy.

A private service will be held at a later date.
