Joseph “Joey” Harold Johnson, 60, of Danville passed away August 13, 2025 at Ephraim Mcdowell Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 17, 1965 in Liberty to Lucille Johnson of Campbellsville and the late Melvin Johnson.
Joey was a volunteer firefighter for the Moreland Fire Department, a position he dearly loved and a member of Roley Christian Church. He loved to fish, eat catfish and most of all spending time with his family. He was a friend to everyone he met and adored his children and grandchildren.
Joey is also survived by his companion for many years, Jennifer Miller of Danville; three sons, Justin Carter (Tara) of Glens Fork, Allen Johnson of Somerset, and Jonathan Armstrong (Jennifer) of Florida; two daughters Andrea Patterson (Don) of Danville and Markiesha Yocum (Zackary) of Danville; a sister, Mary Kay Cox (Jim) of Campbellsville; ten grandchildren; and his dog, Doodle.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Miles.
A memorial service will be held on August 16, 2025 at Christie Chapel Church, Elkhorn, KY from 12-2 with service at 2pm.
