Joseph Barry Rousey, 65, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at his home. He was born on October 29, 1958 to the late Owen and Ruth Rousey.
Throughout his life, Joseph has worked at the Boyle County Jail, Boyle County Landfill, as a guard at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, and a dog warden for animal control. He was a volunteer Fire and Rescue for Junction City on Engine 4 for over 8 years.
Joseph is survived by a brother, Paul Rousey (Rhonda) of Junction City; a sister, Mary Yocum (Michael) of Lancaster; five nephews; Shawn Rousey (Cheri) of Junction City, Shane Rousey (Shelley) of Hustonville, Danny Rousey (Denise) of Richmond, Randy Rousey of Cream Ridge, Aaron Dean Yocum of Lancaster; and a niece Sarah Jane Yocum (Brandon Meece) of Junction City.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Ray Rousey and Owen Rousey, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024 with Bro. Barry Harmon officiating. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm. Burial in Cream Ridge Cemetery.
