Mary Josephine Clarkson Roller, 99, of Danville, passed away September 11, 2023 in Mercer County. She was born on March 9, 1924 in the Forkland community of Boyle County, Kentucky to John Carpenter and Mary Burka Clarkson. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Herbert Kenneth Roller. 

Along with her parents and husband, She is preceded in death by her only son, Ronald Kenneth Roller, paternal grandparents were Jim and Betty Anderson Clarkson and her maternal grandparents Joseph and Josephine Mauer Burka;  five brothers: Lewis F., James Joseph, William Edward, Johnnie Lucian, and Leo Thomas Clarkson. 

Mary Josephine graduated from Forkland High School in 1942. She was a factory employee, and loved caring for small children, and taking care of her home. She has been a life-long member of the Roman Catholic Church. She was an active member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Danville, Kentucky. In her early years, she was a member of St. Patrick in Junction City, Kentucky.  

She is survived by two special nieces, Judy Clarkson Bottom (Marrison) of Burgin and Raenetta Clarkson Shelton of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews. 

A funeral mass will be 12pm Friday, September 15, 2023 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Danny Schwendeman officiating. Burial will follow in Tanyard Cemetery in Gravel Switch, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home.
