Joyce Gambrel

Joyce Gambrel gained her heavenly wings December 27, 2025 peacefully in her sleep. She had battled Alzheimer’s for many years and resided at Walker’s Trail for the last three years where she was treated as family with lots of love and compassion. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jackie Gambrel; her mother and father, Charles Lee and Ethel Partin Baker and three brothers.  

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Gambrel-McElroy (Jim) and Debbie Crowley (Andrew); a son, Greg Gambrel (Linda); seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Coffman officiating. Burial at 12:30 pm will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be Keeley Crowley, Emily Martin, Josh Crowley, Adam Gambrel, Clara Gambrel, Brant Goodlett, Hazel Grace Foley with special guidance by Rylen Goodlett.
