Judith "Judy" Ann Butler Pittman, 78, of Danville, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center. She was born in Springfield, Kentucky, on July 17, 1947, to the late Fonzo and Carolyn Butler.
Judy dedicated over 40 years to the Advocate Messenger was a member of the Baptist faith. She was an exceptional cook who also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing cards any chance she could get.
Judy is survived by two daughters, Anita C. Wood (Charles) and Karen A. April (Sam), both of Danville; a brother, Sonny Butler (Debbie), and a sister, Rosemary Williams (Jerry), both of Indiana; five grandchildren, James E . Pittman III, Dwayne Pittman, Estill McAninch, Eric McAninch, Deanna McAninch, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Judy was preceded in death by a son, James E. Pittman, Jr.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Brother Fred Willett officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Sam LaJudice, Charles Wood, James E. Pittman III, Bob Townes, Allyn Townes, and Jerry Williams.
