Judy Perkins

Judy Christine Wilson Perkins, 86, of Stanford, passed away December 11, 2022 in Danville. She was born on February 18, 1936 in Casey County to the late Alvis and Virtie Gossor Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Perkins, Jr and by a daughter, Lisha Renee Perkins Hampton. 

Judy worked for the National Literary Association, where she traveled all over the US. After starting a family, she worked for American Greetings and Palm Beach. She was a member of Danville Church of God. Judy was  independent, high spirited, and fun loving. She never met a stranger. Bird watching and gardening were her favorite pastimes, but her family was the most important to her. 

Surviving are two sons, Charles Perkins and Michael Perkins (Tracy), both of Stanford; son-in-law, Larry Hampton of Danville; grandchildren: Jessica, Tammy, Heather, Lucas, David, Jason, and Erica, many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Judy was also preceded in death by brothers, Essley, Ralph, and Marion Wilson and sisters, Dorothy Hubble, Lora Snow, and Glenna Rice. 

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Brother Doug Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the funeral home.
