Kelley Elkin passed away surrounded by family and friends at 4:34am on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
She had an inner beauty, a zest for life and a sense of unmatched humor. She gave her all to everyone. After giving everything to those she loved, she still had an empathy of spirit, a gracious generosity and a kindness of heart to share with anyone who needed a kind word, a strong support, a favor, a friend. She was a bright and shining light and the world is absolutely diminished by her passing.
She is survived by her three sons; Greg Reed, Michael Bernard and wife Katrina, and Collin Randolph. Kelley was a wonderful grandmother, blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren who meant everything to her: Coraline, Jonah, and Noelle Bernard; Zaiden, Riley, Tatum, and their mother, Whitney; Paisley and Connor and their mother, Savanna. She is survived by her best friend and companion, Shelby Elkin. She is survived by her brother, Jim Young and Beth; and her sister Elisa McHolan and husband Michael; and her sister Deirdre Ketchen and husband Matt. She is survived by her mother, Maureen Young, five nephews and one niece. She was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Young and two grand-babies, Valentine and Lonnie Bernard.
Always busy with family, Kelley still found time to crochet beautiful afghans and knit caps for the grand-babies, and shawls and sweaters for her sisters and mom. She was a talented artist, whose work we will treasure always. An ardent gardener, she created the most beautiful gardens and stunning oases of beauty and peace.
Her love for her family knew no limits. We will cherish every memory of her kindness, generosity, and inclusion. Her family will forever be filled with gratitude for the beautiful lessons we learned from her, most of all her examples of love and devotion.
Funeral services will be 1pm Monday, March 30, 2026 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-5pm on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at the funeral home.
