Linda Brousseau Obituary

Linda Woody Brousseau passed away peacefully at home on April 30th, 2026.  She was born on February 22nd, 1945, to the late Robert and Virginia (nee’ Clewis) Woody in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Linda is survived by her children Andre’ (Heather) Brousseau IV, Louis (Agnes) Brousseau, Mignon (Erik Drake) Brousseau, and Dominique Brousseau, as well as many grandchildren and her brother in law and sister in law, Louis and Betty Brousseau.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Andre’ Brousseau III, her son, Jacques’, and her sister in law Mary Aline Brousseau.  Linda was a long standing member of the Kentucky Craft Guild and was the owner of the Elements Pottery.  Her pottery and ceramic pieces were sold in gift shops located in over half of the country.  She was best known for her unique tobacco tree design, which she created and trademarked using her own glazes.  She was also the owner of the Old Crow Inn along with her husband. Her skill at kneading clay easily transferred to kneading bread dough, and she was renowned for her culinary skills.  Whether catering a wedding or whipping up breakfasts for guests, she excelled in the kitchen.  Cooking was her way of showing love, and that love came through in every bite.

While Linda was known for her artistry and cooking, she excelled most at being a Mom and Grandma.  Her warmth and kindness was felt by everyone, and she became “mom” to many of her children’s friends.  She deeply loved her grandchildren, and spent many afternoons doing craft projects and cooking with them.  She will be greatly missed.

The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 10 am at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with visitation beginning at 9 am.  A private graveside ceremony will be held for family only at Camp Nelson.
