Loretta Harriet Taylor, 85, of Danville, passed away October 25, 2024 at her home. She was born in Danville, Kentucky on October 28, 1938 to the late Levi Nelson and Johnetta Chenault. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lee Taylor, son, Terry Smith, daughter, Lonetta Smith; sisters, Barbara Nelson and Roseann Porter and two brothers, George and Harvey Chenault.
Loretta was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Harrodsburg. She loved to sing and play the piano.
Surviving are three daughters, Barbara (Don) Faulkner, Francine Thompson, Alberta (Charlie) Lewis, and; one son, Marvin Smith; Nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bethel Wade and Lanier Bowman and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 1:00PM on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until the time of service on Thursday.
Pallbearers are Timothy Smith, Clarence Smith, Richard Porter, Thomas Porter, Daniel Bartleson, and Chad Bartleson.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Atkins, Charlie Perry, Charlie Lewis, and Jerome Smith.
