Lucille Sims Obituary

Lucille Sims, 98, of Danville, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She was born on April 14, 1925  in Lincoln County to the late Lucian and Lilly Grubbs.


She was a member of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church.


Lucille is survived by a son, Carl “Eddie” Sims of Danville; a brother, Paul Grubbs (Faye) of Lexington; four grandchildren, Gerri Sims, Nathan Sims, DeAnn Sims and Glen Sims; two great-grandchildren, Sierra Sims and Kimberly Bevins; great-great-grandchildren, Willow Pauley, Rowan Pauley, Nolan Carlton and Novah Carlton.


She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Sims; five brothers, Roy Grubbs, Red Grubbs, Lewis Grubbs, Melvin Grubbs, and Bud Grubbs; and two sisters, Maddie Martin and Sadie Sears.


Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Jolene Bailey officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the time of the funeral.
