Margaret "Peggy" Elmore

Margaret “Peggy” Poynter Elmore, 87, of Danville, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville. She was born November 8, 1932 to the late James and Ellen Holmes Poynter. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carter Elmore.

She was a homemaker and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. 

Surviving are three sons, Richard Carter Elmore (Marilyn) of Lancaster, James Robert Elmore (Linda) of Danville and William Russell Elmore (Patricia) of Lancaster; grandchildren, Shelley Cerqueira (John), Andrea May (Kyle), Allison Tamme (Jacob), Chad Elmore, and Valerie Boyd and great-grandchildren, Riley Cerqueira, Maggie Cerqueira, Lucy May, Luke Tamme, Sam May, Lyla Tamme, Ella Tamme and Gracie Elmore.

She is preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Ursprung and Helen Propes.

Funeral services will be 11AM Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Brent Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10AM until service time on Wednesday. 

Pallbearers will be, John Cerqueira, Kyle May, Jacob Tamme and Chad Elmore.

Memorial contributions are preferred to the Gideons.
