Mary Adams

Mary Isaacs Adams, 80, of Danville, passed away April 15, 2023 at her home. She was born October 10, 1942 in Jackson County, Kentucky to the late Archie and Lessie Blanton Isaacs. She is survived by her loving husband, Roy Adams. 

Our mother was a loving and caring wife of 64 years and great mother to her four children, but she was also a mom to many, including her work as foster parent for many years. She was a  MiMi to her own grandchildren and to even more over the years. Her gentle, loving spirit resonated to many in everything that she was. Her family was always first and foremost. Her sense of humor was incomparable, and spontaneous. Her beautiful smile lit up the room and her laughter was infectious and her wit was quick. Because of her honesty, you always knew where you stood with her. Her door and arms were always open for advice, comfort, laughter, love, wisdom and understanding. Even in her pain, she was still concerned about and looking out for her family. Some of her favorite things to do were reading her Bible and traveling, but above all else, her family. We will forever cherish the memories that we have had with her.

Mary is survived by a son, Micheal Ray Adams (Linda) of Danville; two daughters, Holly Sue Thomas (Charlie) of Danville and Joy Lee Gilbert (Isaac) of Danville; brothers, Vearl "Ned" Isaacs of Lancaster, James Isaacs of Berea and David Isaacs of Lancaster; sisters, Margie Farthing of Richmond, Julie Huffman of Nicholsville and Ruby Adams of Lancaster; grandchildren, Weylin Adams, Brandon Adams, Adam Major, Amanda Adams, Racheal Adams Miller, Cadin Adams, and Hillary Godbey (Aaron); many great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert "Keith" Adams, granddaughter, Brittany Major, brothers, Hearl and John Isaacs and sisters, Pina Mae Dailey and Barbara Jean Ward. 

Funeral services will be 3pm Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Greene and Bro. Andy Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12pm until service time.

Pallbearers will be Logan Major, Charlie Thomas, Isaac Gilbert, Aaron Godbey, Cadin Adams, Brandon Adams, Weylin Adams, and Adam Major.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Wilson, Charles Wilson, James Caudill, Jerry Adams, John Dailey, Dan Dailey, Billy Godber, Bobby Hall, Kensli Polston, Zoe Polston and Taylor Major.
