Mary Beasley Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Buster Beasley, 89, of Danville passed from this life on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Stanford Crossing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stanford. The transition from this earthly walk of life was made easy as she was a dedicated and faithful servant of the Lord.

Elizabeth as she was affectionately called by those who knew and loved her was born on August 3, 1935 in Stanford, Kentucky to the late Jay Buster and Mary Elizabeth Coulter Buster.  She was a graduate of Bates High School in Danville and spent most of her career as a head cook at the Jenny Rogers Elementary School in Danville, and was well known for her famous dishes of Macaroni & Cheese and Corn Pudding. she was also known as the “Avon Lady’ winning the friendships of many in the Community of Danville and surrounding counties.  Elizabeth was of the Pentecostal/Holiness Faith and a became a faithful member of the  Church of God of America in 1952.  It was the same year that she was appointed to the position of National General Finance Secretary.  However, she also served in the capacity of local Church Secretary for over 50 years as well as an interim National Register Secretary at one time.

On January 3, 1959 Elizabeth was united in Holy Matrimony to Samuel Issac Beasley in a quiet ceremony in the Vestibule of the church.  We fondly remember when they would laugh over the years after the church was remodeled that their wedding venue became the lady’s restroom. Together they have celebrated 66 years of life in marriage together.

Elizabeth had such a calm resolve about her, but to those close to her she had a sense of humor that would make you laugh and put a smile on your face.  Her children as the scripture says, her children will rise up and call her “Blessed”.  They fondly remember her as a woman of Faith, Love, Joy and Peace.  One of her favorite quotes was “Don’t let nothing or anybody disturb your peace”.  Her husband fondly remembers her steadfast testimony of “Put things in the Lord’s hands and everything will be alright”

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother; James Ray Shanks, a son; (Issac Thomas Beasley, who died in infancy) and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband; Samuel Isaac Beasley, two loving daughters; LaWanda Joyce Beasley of Frankfort and Rhonda Denise Hardin of Danville, three grandchildren; Alexis Burt of Frankfort, Justin (Jennifer Tabor) of Lawrenceburg, and R. J. Hardin of Danville, three great-grandchildren; Justin Beasley, Jr., Zariah Beasley and Nyomi Denney all of Lawrenceburg, a half-sister; Mary Carpenter of Lexington, a brother-in-law; Pastor William D. (Evette) Beasley of Shelbyville and a sister-in-law; Anna Margaret McAdoo of Danville, several nieces and nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
