Mike Bauman, 87, of Danville, passed away on April 11, 2026, at Ephraim McDowell Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Joyce Bowen Bauman. He was born on December 15, 1938, in Lexington, Kentucky, to the late Walter William Bauman and Mary Jo Giovanelli Bauman.
Mike graduated from University of Kentucky School of Pharmacy in 1961. He purchased Northisde Pharmacy from his father in 1962 then sold it in 1998. He continued to serve other independent pharmacies as a relief pharmacist until he was 81. He served in the US Army Reserves. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. A deeply spiritual man, he was heavily involved as a server, lector, and congregant at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Along with his wife, Mike is survived by a son, Eric Michael Bauman (Danielle) of Winchester; five daughters, Michaelle Alexandria Scott (Mark) of Lancaster, Blanche Christina Cummins (Shane) of Burgin, Holly Victoria Sullivan (Pat) of Nicholasville, Autumn Michelle Boggs of Midway, and Stephanie Leigh Conrey of Lexington; eleven grandchildren, Katharyn Stump (Nick), Alex Strode, Bailey Cummins, Collin Cummins, Victoria James, Levi Bauman, Taylor Merideth, Dylan Boggs, Olivia Monhollen, Katie Boggs, and Jarren Dicken; seven great-grandchildren, Maxx and Sophia James, Aubree, Mason, and Zoey Penix, Amelia and Micha Stump; a brother, Lawrence Phillip Bauman of Florida and a sister, Mary Ann Cantrill of Lexington.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Danny Schwendeman officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Merideth, Pat Sullivan, Shane Cummins, Doug Bauman, Mark Scott, and Fred Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Maxx James and Levi Bauman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church 117 W. Main Street Danville, Kentucky 40422.
