Raymond Payne

Raymond Payne, 91, of Shepherdsville, formerly of Danville, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Sanders Ridge Health Campus. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethel Gordon Payne. Raymond was born on June 10, 1929 in Boyle County, KY to the late Raymond Sr. and Pearl Wren Payne.  

Raymond retired from Brown and Williamson after 35 years. He served our country bravely in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Surviving are two sons, Michael Payne(Kris) of Mt. Washington, KY and David Payne(Valarie) of Shepherdsville, KY; a brother, Bobby Payne(Dolly); four sisters, Ruby Hopper, Esther Van Arsdall, Nancy Conley, and Emma Hardin; four grandchildren, Bradley Payne, Kristi Marksberry, Crissi Payne, and Kayla Payne; and three great-grandchildren, Lylah Payne, Alyssa Banks, and Destiny Marksberry.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday February 2, 2021 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Payne officiating. 

Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. 

Pallbearers are Michael Payne, David Payne, Brad Payne, Chris May, Mark Boyd and Greg Hopper.
