Rebecca Lane Southerland, 78, of Salvisa, passed away July 21, 2024 in Lexington, Kentucky. Becky was born on June 24, 1946 to the late Eugene and Wilma Rankin Wiglesworth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Southerland.
Becky worked for a school cafeteria for many years and worked for Family Affair restaurant in Salvisa. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Salvisa.
She is survived by a son, Marvin Wells (Amy) of Lexington, Kentucky; two daughters, Janet Holman (Donald) of Harrodsburg and Reeda Jenkins (Eddie) of Lexington, Kentucky; sisters, Barbie Atkins of Lexington, Vickie Rosales (Ed) of Arizona, and Kathy McFadden (Charles) of Winchester; a brother, Eugene “Junebug” Wiglesworth (Kathy) of Junction City; grandchildren, Ashley Spickard, Misti Wallace, Bo Jenkins, Hollie Jenkins, and Toby Wells; great-grandchildren, Daniel West, Kaiden Robinson, and Jayce Ballert and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Eugenia Turpin, Pat Shaw, George Wiglesworth, and Ronnie Wiglesworth.
Funeral services will be 1pm Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11am until funeral time on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Jenkins, Marvin Wells, Junebug Wiglesworth, Danny Spickard, Charlie McFadden, and Brandon McFadden.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ashley Spickard and Misti Wallace.
