Richard Williams, 74, of Danville passed away at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center on June 19, 2025. He was born on June 23, 1950 in Lexington to the late Arthur and June Wells Williams.
Richard was a truck driver for over twenty-seven years and a meat department manager-butcher at Winn Dixie for over fifteen years. He enjoyed golf and loved Danville High School and UK football. He was a member of Pleasant Run Baptist Church.
Surviving is the mother of his children, Barbara Williams of Danville; two sons, James Williams (Davan) of Lexington and Bryan Williams (Layla) of Northern Kentucky; a daughter, Mellissa Williams of Danville; a brother, Gary Williams of Garrard County; a sister Vickie Petitt (Dave) of Parksville; six grandchildren, Amberly Gale Hayes, Haleigh Miller, Hunter Xavier Gray, Peightyn Grace Williams, Bryson Williams, and Jack Lambert Williams; one great-grandchild, Octavia Miller; and several cousins nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jacquie Williams; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Williams.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Jr. Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Parksville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of the service.
Pallbearers will be David Barrett, Sean Butler, Shane Burger, Lincoln Burger, Jackson Burger and Hunter Gray.
In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to Danville High School Football.
